Boy, here we go. Okay, before we begin this article, let me just say that this article is by no means meant to ridicule or hate on payday 3 order developers responsible for its current state. This article is about taking a serious, realistic look at all of the current problems that are causing this game to underperform massively and the reason why so many players are frustrated and pissed off at its current state, despite the fact that I've released a few negative articles on this game by now.

I genuinely do believe it has a lot of potential and had so much fun while playing it; if I didn't, I wouldn't bother covering it. It brought me a glimpse of fresh air that I really needed, but also a massive disappointment when I realized there were so many things I wanted to do that were completely impossible due to the horrible amount of progression limitations, gamebreaking bugs, and lackluster customization. But that potential is very far away, at least for now.

First and foremost, the biggest problem right now are the glitches. There are quite a few to talk about, but they are serious, for starters. I'm sure some of you have already seen the disappearing zip-back problem present in 99 boxes. It may not seem like a big deal, but if it happens to you, your level progression is dead right then and there, and you need to restart as it's impossible to reach the docks any other way.

On top of that, in Rock the Crowle, there's two bugs that are very problematic, both involving the VIP cards. The first one will make it, so the VIP guard will not let you go through the door despite you already having the VIP invites acquired and legitimized. Now you can't get around that, of course, but it is an unnecessary hustle that risks your run greatly.

However, there's a much bigger problem that occurs when you get Cassandra's second loop. What happens is that despite hacking her phone to get the VIP invites and legitimizing them, not only will the VIP guard not let you through, but on Overkill difficulty, the rest of the guards will still spot you and escort you out, which makes the level significantly harder than it should be.

Some people may say, Well, that sounds like a skill issue. Just play around with it. That's not the point, idiot. The point is that it shouldn't happen; it makes creating guides completely impossible, and it makes your playthrough significantly harder for no real reward. There is simply no excuse for a game that has been in development for this long with only a few levels to have so many gameplay-altering issues that it's unacceptable.

And it should have been caught and fixed months ago second, and just as annoying are the progression requirements. This, to me, is a very clear example of the lack of understanding and overall intelligence of the development team responsible for the mess. This is not even meant as an insult; it's just a harsh reality.

Because of all the games I've played, I have never seen progression being botched so horribly that you'd think they'd be selling XP packs or something. Every other game that has a leveling system rewards you with XP simply for enjoying and playing the game not payday 3 in Payday 3. The only way to get any XP in order to level up is by grinding the challenges.

You have to go into the challenges menu and look for specific combat challenges. Then you have to grind them on repeat; it is the only way to level up. Some people may say that you can level up just by playing the game, as you do have challenges to complete, which, when you do, reward your XP. However, the XP received from them is extremely tiny, and even if you complete all the heists, it won't be enough to get you even to level 20.

Now, that is a huge problem. Payday 3 requires levels in order to unlock any weapons, outfits, or anything else. If you're stuck on the lower levels, you can have millions upon millions of dollars, but it won't do you any good as there will simply be nothing for you to buy. That turns Payday 3 from a game that you can just play casually into a grindfest. SLC job, which wouldn't be a huge problem for certain people if the rewards were worth it, and speaking of that, let's talk about the customization.

Now the customization. I can honestly say, is pretty damn limited; five suits is the best they could do, which leads me to believe that the developers are either lying about how long the game has been in development or are simply giving us the bare minimum so they can charge us for the rest through paid DLC.

Either way, it's very far from what anybody coming from Payday 2 or any other game, for that matter, would expect. Of course, customization is limited even further by the fact that all items are locked into certain levels, and because the game has 150 levels, they are spread out all through them. Of course, because, like we already talked about, the progression is horrible, it makes your already extremely limited choices that much more limited.

There are only a few masks and gloves you can buy, but the best-looking ones will always cost you SE Stacks. Now that SE Stacks are bought with in-game money, the problem is how to acquire them. You need to spend an enormous amount of money.

One of the developers, called Mo, tried to justify them by saying their design means players can waste unneeded money on them, as towards the end of Payday 2, players had so much money they didn't have anything to do with them. Now, that is another stance. That makes completely no sense, although that problem may have existed in Payday 2.

This is not Payday 2; we have barely any content to play, and by putting such extreme prices on these items, all you're doing is limiting player customization. Even further, as most players simply won't feel like wasting weeks at a time grinding for a single pair of gloves or mask or whatever, it's another showcase of the lead developers not understanding their audience and believing they are free to do whatever they want, and the players will just accept it and move along, but that won't happen.

This is not Grand Theft AO 6; it's not a one-in-a-lifetime game. If players feel screwed or feel like they're not being treated right, they'll just leave and do something else. From the looks of it, probably back to Payday 2, and the final thing, if you're going to have female characters in your game, at least give them some unique clothing.

I think the default joy and pearl outfits are pretty decent, but they need more than that. It's okay to split the outfits category and make some outfits exclusive to female characters.
